I really never had any intention of writing books on drug abuse. I have written a number of articles on home education, parenting skills and domestic abuse. However, after spending some time in the same house as a drug addict, I decided to write about my experience, in the hope that it might help others.

I was born on the edge of London, England and was educated in Oxford. After my marriage, I moved to the United States with my husband and two daughters. After living in both Michigan and Minnesota, I currently live in the beautiful Willamette Valley in Oregon.

After getting a divorce, I shared a house with a woman who I discovered was a heavy drug user. During those years I dealt with the daily effects of a drug user in the house.

When I realized that I was part of the problem and not part of the solution, I made immediate changes to ensure my own personal safety. When I also realized that there was little information for the families of drug users, I started a local drug education network, working with local law enforcement and schools to educate others about drugs and their effects on both the user and the family. After two years, I wanted to expand the reach of this work so I created an educational website dedicated to the support of families of drug users.

The Dangers of Living with a Drug Addict is aimed at helping families to avoid the problems I had in dealing with a user in my home.
